As a unit of flying fire companies, the Aviation Unit renders its services anytime for firefighting, rescue, public relations, fact-finding and the transport of personnel and equipment in times of large disasters both at home and abroad. The Unit engages in extensive missions with the EMS helicopters responding both within Tokyo and to islands for the provision of advanced life support.

Port Fire Service
The Tokyo Fire Department's fire boats keep watch over ships and waterfront facilities for fire prevention, and carry out firefighting, rescue and fire prevention inspection for the safety of the Port of Tokyo. They also respond to river accidents.
