The Tokyo Fire Department conducts the following for the enhancement of international relations. Disaster preparedness/fire safety guidance to foreign residents in Tokyo. Acceptance of foreign trainees/visitors. Personnel dispatch to foreign fire service organizations for technical assistance. Attendance at international fire conferences/Understanding of overseas fire service facts/Exchanges with overseas fire service organizations. An international fire exposition(in 2003). Smooth emergency medical services for Tokyo foreign residents with the EMS Foreign Language Manual carrying 11 languages for all the EMS units'use.(About 530 foreigners are handled by EMS personnel a year.)
